HAI's 2009 HELI-EXPO show attracted almost 18,000 attendees to the city of Anaheim in California. Billed as the world's largest helicopter show, it housed 585 exhibitors with displays that covered just about 260,000 square feet—including 65 helicopters.
From the moment the doors opened, the Onboard Systems booth was flooded with visitors eager to see our external load equipment. Interest in our new Bell 407 Fixed Beam Suspension System and its unique pin load cell Onboard Weighing System was especially high. This system features our new pin cell technology, which reduces weight and increases ground clearance. As you can see in the picture to the left, and in the system picture below, instead of requiring a separate link above the hook, the pin load cell simply replaces a bolt. Onboard Systems will be rolling out this technology to other suspension systems as well.
