Onboard Systems Suspension System Approved by Eurocopter for Factory Installation on EC145 Aircraft Program
Wednesday, October 12, 2011
Onboard Systems International, Inc., a leading provider of innovative helicopter cargo hook equipment, announced that its TALON LC cargo hook suspension system has been approved under Eurocopter's type certificate for the EC145 aircraft. In addition to containing all the latest safety enhancements—including a TALON LC Keeperless cargo hook with a "load-on-hook" indicator, a protective bumper ring, and an optional Onboard Weighing System—Onboard's EC145 cargo hook suspension system is approved to lift external loads up to 1,500 KG.
"The system was recently selected for factory installation by Eurocopter for a variety of reasons, including its lower weight, the safety advantages of the TALON LC Keeperless cargo hook, and the high-quality support we offer to customers,” said Karsten Lemmon, Vice President, Sales & Marketing of Onboard Systems. "We know that many customers have been asking for this system, and we are pleased to be working with Eurocopter to offer this product as a factory-install option."
This suspension system is also installed as part of the US Army's LUH Program. Onboard’s TALON LC cargo hook suspension system for the EC145 includes a bumper ring with built-in travel limits to protect the hook and control cables from damage. The optional integrated weighing system improves safety, increases productivity and decreases repairs due to overstress and overload. The TALON LC cargo hook suspension system for the EC145 will be available exclusively from Eurocopter.
