Description
The TALON 16,000 Pound Capacity Cargo Hook offers significant weight reduction, improved product lead times, reliable delivery schedules, and lower acquisition costs than comparable heavy belly cargo hooks. Each part of this hook has been optimized for weight, strength and increased safety margins using CAD/CAM design tools and offers many improvements and features not found on the original hook.
This hook is suitable for use as a replacement hook on the Boeing 234, CH-47, and Sikorsky S-64 aircraft.

And the corrosion problems caused by retained water in the original hook have been eliminated by designing a sealed chamber with O-rings and a re-enterable encapsulant, coupled with a Gore-Tex vent.

This is a big time-and-cost-savings improvement over the original hook, whose built-in electrical harness is easily damaged and requires depot level maintenance to repair. The design also includes improved bushings, allowing for quick and easy maintenance. And because the need to perform a pressurized solenoid chamber test has been eliminated, the return to service requirements after maintenance are greatly simplified.
