Fixed Beam Suspension System
This system eliminates the side-to-side banging of the trolley suspension system design.
Description
Factory-installed by Bell on new 407 aircraft, our fixed beam suspension system eliminates the side-to-side banging of the trolley suspension system. It interfaces with Bell’s standard fixed provisions kit and mounts to the existing cargo hook hard points on the belly of the aircraft. It offers many important improvements and benefits over the trolley system design.

- Weight Reduction — Elimination of the trolley system allows for a 35% reduction in weight.
- Simplified Design — The fixed beam design greatly reduces the total part count, greatly reducing maintenance costs and requirements.
- Built in Travel Limits — Added to both the load beam and the cargo hook to protect the hook, the suspension system and the aircraft.
- Improved Ground Clearance — Offers additional clearance from the lowest hanging point of the cargo hook, which is important for operations in remote field locations where prepared landing pads are few and far between.
- Onboard Weighing System — Uses our new pin load cell technology to integrate directly into the suspension load beam, eliminating the need for extra linkage. Maximize load efficiency while reducing airframe stress by knowing the exact weight of your load (available in the first half of 2009).
It’s All in the Box
Our suspension system is designed to replace Bell’s legacy equipment and interface easily with standard Bell or Onboard provision kits (please refer to the kit owner’s manual or call us for a list of applicable Bell part numbers). Each of these suspension systems include the suspension frame, the TALON LC Keeperless cargo hook, hook control cables, and optional Onboard Weighing System. It can be installed on new or existing aircraft using standard hand tools.
